Jen has worked with students one-on-one and in small groups, both inside and outside the classroom setting. She specializes in supporting beginning and struggling readers through a multisensory approach that develops decoding, fluency, and overall reading confidence.
For more advanced readers, she uses controlled texts and evidence-based strategies to strengthen comprehension through metacognitive modeling, repeated readings, and visual supports.
She also works with students to develop strong writing skills by teaching a structured writing process using graphic organizers, visual tools, and explicit instruction in organization and composition.
In mathematics, she helps students build foundational skills in areas such as number sense, basic addition and subtraction, and place value, while also supporting more complex problem-solving through the use of visual models, manipulatives, and hands-on learning experiences.
Jen Wiescinski has the ability, passion and experience to help your child succeed.
